Here is information regarding our contact hours.
This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Missouri Nurses Association,
an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
A list of participants, including addresses and contact hours, will be forwarded to the MONA office upon completion of the training.

Contact Hours by Week of Training:
Week 1 – study of conception, gestation as it applies to comprehensive bereavement support – 3 contact hours
Week 2 – study of prenatal development as it applies to comprehensive bereavement support – 3 contact hours
Week 3 – study of childbirth and medical involvement as it applies to comprehensive bereavement support – 3 contact hours
Week 4 – study of chidbirth and non-medical involvement as it applies to comprehensive bereavement support – 3 contact hours
Week 5 – study of postpartum physical health of mom and baby, including NICU and emergencies – 3 contact hours
Week 6 – study of postpartum and bereavement – 3 contact hours
Week 7 – study of postpartum emotional and mental health, of mom, and of provider – 3 contact hours
Week 8 – study of establishing or enhancing position by integrating tools learned into real life application – 3 contact hours
Completion of Reflection Guide following reading “Companioning at a Time of Perinatal Loss” – 3 contact hours
Completion of book review following reading one other book from our pre-selected list – 3 contact hours
Total contact hours available for completing the SBD training – 30 contact hours
30 contact hours for only $250!
In order to be accepted into our program, you must first submit your application (see our complete SBD registration for details). You will need to participate in guided discussion during each week, as well as obtain an 80% or higher on each exam, to be awarded contact hours. You cannot apply for partial contact hours, but if you apply for the program and do not complete it, your partial participation will be documented. There are no refunds for contact hours applied for but not received.
